If you are new to retail you will need to know the key performance indicators that companies like yours use to manage company performance. This handy chart summarises the main ones.

Table of the important KPIS by retailer business department or function

The KPIs in the left-hand column are widely used by most departments in a retail business. Then the more specialized ones used by specific departments are shown to the right of these.

By analyzing the trend in a retailer’s KPIs over a period of 3-5 years and comparing them to their competitors vendors will often be able to uncover opportunities for their solutions.  Retailers can do the same comparisons to identify their own areas of improvement.

Future blogs will go into the different types of KPIs in more detail.
