  • Understanding the retail profit and loss statement or store trading statement
  • Understanding, calculating and interpreting retail key performance indicators
  • Analysing store performance – sales and gross margin achievement, expense management, selling space productivity, labour productivity (sales per labour hour) 
  • Adjusting the trading plan in the light of results to date, issues arising and expectations for the future
  • Developing and managing budgets and targets
  • Staff scheduling
  • Sales training for staff using the training packs provided
  • Competitor analysis
  • Managing property maintenance.

 

This learning path includes much of the retail knowledge also applicable to Area Managers, Regional Directors and Stores Administration staff.  Of course, these roles will also have other training needs in areas additional to those covered by Martec International, such as leadership and managerial skills.
